The next MGG Studio Spotlight features Isabella Alsobrook, a recent LA transplant and sustainable fashion enthusiast. I met Isabella and her mom when they came into my booth at West Coast Craft in LA, and, as a fellow fan of sustainable style, of course I felt an immediate kinship. Isabella is just lovely, and I’m completely smitten with her personal style slogan- check it out below.  Take it away, Isabella!

Tell us a bit about yourself!

After recently moving to Los Angeles, I live with five housemates in Echo Park and work Downtown doing community engagement for a non-profit. As I am new to LA, I still enjoy "touristy" outings. I've been taking advantage of California sunshine and have been enjoying new hikes and art museums.

What's something you find inspiring? (e.g., a meaningful song, a favorite place, a piece of art, a special person in your life)

What inspires your personal style (current trends? comfort? someone you admire?)

I am most inspired by Cate Blanchette's chic menswear looks. I've described my personal aesthetic as "librarian at a bar."

What's your favorite piece of MGG Studio jewelry and where did you get it?

My favorite MGG Studio piece is my pair of Sita earrings, a gift from my mother. We went to the West Coast Craft Fair at Row DTLA and fell in love with the sculptural simplicity of Marja's designs.

We love to shout out other small businesses- let us know your favorite local spot to shop for accessories!

I love browsing second hand stores and buying sustainable fashion. Bleusalt stands out as a ecological and woman-owned clothing company. Also, I have been buying ceramics from Still Life Studios and other local potters.

Thanks for sharing, Isabella!  As a fellow collector of handmade ceramics, I’m going to be checking out Still Life Studios for sure.

Are you an MGG Studio customer? Want to share more about your love of sculptural jewelry, minimalist design, sustainable style (or anything else)? We’d love to learn more about you!
